Aurway Abroad is a new initiative aimed at empowering black and brown artists to explore the world, share authentic art, and foster cultural connections. This international artistic exchange programs goal is to amplify Aurway's mission, creating a global platform for the pursuit and presentation of culturally relevant art.

What is Aurway Abroad?

Aurway Abroad is inspired by Aurway's mission – a network of emerging and professional artists dedicated to the pursuit, creation, and presentation of culturally relevant art, highlighting the experiences of black and brown people. We recognize the transformative power of art in fostering connections and understanding across cultures.

The goal:

Our goal with Aurway Abroad is not only to engage in mutual arts exchange but to bring transformative growth to the communities we visit. Whether through volunteering, fundraising initiatives, or even building efforts, we aim to create a lasting impact.

  • So where is our first stop?

This special journey honors the legacy of our founding team member, Jeremiah Trusty, who had a profound connection with Japan. Our time there will include Legacy of Love Concert: a special musical celebration on July 20th in honor of Jeremiah's legacy, Community Arts Exchange: Engaging in artistic and cultural exchange with the local community and Workshops: Participating in and contributing to workshops that extend beyond the stage.

Why Japan?

Our dear friend and founding team member, Jeremiah Trusty, spent a few years living in Japan playing professional basketball. There, he found community through Christ and music, and considered Japan his other home. In collaboration with his mother, Momma Diane Fisher, we join the Legacy of Love Tokyo Takeover to honor Jeremiah's legacy and love for Japan.

  • How can you help?

DONATE!

We need your help to make the Legacy of Love Tokyo Takeover a reality. Your contribution will fund plane tickets for the 8 A.R.T.I.S.Ts, enabling them to share their art, connect with the community, and contribute to the local cultural exchange, while also being able to honor our dear friend Jeremiah.
